Coltiviamo il Futuro.
HIGHER EDUCATION – MARKETING & FUNDRAISING COACHING
Bringing nature back into Turin’s school courtyards
Coltiviamo il Futuro (Let’s Grow the Future) is a community project developed through the collaboration of ITER – Istituzione Torinese per una Educazione Responsabile, Green Growth Generation and a group of students from ESCP Business School Turin, coordinated by Gabriella Esposito.
The goal is concrete: transform school courtyards across the city into shared, sustainable and inclusive green spaces — places where children and young people can play, explore and learn outdoors.
In an urban context where access to nature is increasingly limited, the project supports direct interventions in Turin’s schools, contributing to the development of more sustainable educational environments, attentive to urban biodiversity and oriented towards social inclusion.
What we are building
The project, running for an indicative period of 6 months, will contribute to:
- Planting trees, shrubs and flowers in school courtyards
- Creating safe and inclusive natural spaces for children of all ages
- Fostering urban biodiversity in school environments across the city
Developing hands-on educational experiences connected to the care of nature and shared spaces
Who we are
The project brings together three complementary organisations:
ITER – Istituzione Torinese
per una Educazione Responsabile
has been delivering innovative educational programmes in Turin’s schools for years, with particular focus on sustainability, creativity and inclusion.
Green Growth Generation
is a non-profit urban platform working at the intersection of participatory design, applied research and civic innovation — deeply rooted in the Turin territory with an active European dimension.
ESCP Business School
(Turin Campus)
contribute expertise in communication, marketing and strategic development, applying their skills in a real context of social and environmental impact — a concrete example of applied university coaching in the local community.
How to participate —
for schools
Schools in the Turin area interested in applying can express their interest through a short letter of intent, sharing their needs, ideas or proposals related to school green spaces.
Resource allocation will take into account:
- Level of active engagement of the school community — teachers, families and students
- Characteristics and needs of the school spaces
- Coherence and quality of the proposals submitted
Fundraising Event Campaign
Launch — Earth Day · 25 April
The project will be publicly launched on Earth Day, 25 April, at the Giardini Reali in Turin (10:00 – 17:00). An open event for citizens to discover the initiative, learn how to get involved, and take part in educational workshops and hands-on activities.
Closing event — September
The campaign will close with an institutional event at Centro Remida-ITER, where the outcomes of the initiative will be presented, funds allocated, and results shared through participatory restitution moments with the schools involved.
Support the project
Coltiviamo il Futuro is made possible by the contribution of individuals, families and organisations who believe in the value of educational green spaces and in the importance of bringing nature back to the city’s schools.
Projects.
Projects are the core of our work. Through place-based urban projects, we integrate participation, research, and experimentation in real city contexts.
